Drawn In: A Creative Process for Artists, Activists, and Jesus Followers

Mar 8, 2013

For those of you reading this post today (March 8, 2013), you’re in luck. For $7 you can purchase fellow Paraclete author Troy Bronsink’s new book called Drawn In: A Creative Process for Artists, Activists, and Jesus Followers. For those of you receving this post (March 9) as an email, I’m a day late and a lot of dollars short on this. Today the book is $7.00; tomorrow it will be back to retail price (I think).

The quick skinny on the content is revealed in the title. This is a book about creativity, mission, ministry, Jesus, co-creation, imagination….But it’s not just “about” those things, Drawn In provides playful and non-threatening exercises to invite the reader to explore them.
Troy Bronsink shows how the rhythms of God’s creative work can be rediscovered through design thinking and creative processes. By understanding God in this new way, Christian creatives are then invited to be “drawn in” to the creative, ongoing, divine work.”
Unlike what the title says, I think Drawn In is for Non-Artists as well. Exercises throughout the book invite participation in God’s life and redemptive rhythms.” Steeped in Scripture and tradition, Troy gives the reader permission to trespass into the sometimes unknown intersection of personal creativity with the collective creativity of God’s kingdom-building work on earth.
