Advent Calendar 2010

December 14, 2010 by Sybil Macbeth 1 Comment Leave a Comment

This year’s Advent calendar is a combination of a stained glass window and a Jesse Tree. The Jesse Tree is a way to track the lineage of Jesus through the story of God in the Hebrew Scriptures. Isaiah 11:1 (NIV) says, “A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.”

Below is a piece of my Jesse Tree/stained glass window calendar. I drew the outline of a tree with black marker and added other thick black lines for the lead of the stained glass. Each day I pray for someone or reflect on a word associated with the coming of the Messiah.
